| Did your Airline or Employer Change? |
|
There have been recent airline mergers and it's important to keep your employment history up to date within APDL for various reasons. One main reason is that APDL uses your airline identifier to lookup information such as gate information and autofill. To ensure APDL is working for you with its outstanding automation go to Settings > Airline and tap the top row as highlighted above set set your current airline. You can also tap Employment History to revise previous employment as needed.

| Logbook Pro Desktop - Non Subscription |

Subscription is becoming the new normal in software to fund continuous development vs. having to deal with 12-18 month upgrade cycles of the past. | Why Dedicated Logbook Companies are Better |

It's not hard entering values into any software products, even refrigerators have computer screens these days. Many gadgets on the market these days in the aviation industry offer some type of logging function but before you go relying on a product for your aviation career, personal or professional, think really hard about the capabilities you may need down the road. It's critical you not only consider DATA IN but also DATA OUT.

Not familiar, give it a try now by clicking View > Analyzer then click ALL DATA on the date dialog. Expand types by clicking the + button on the left and find per tail stats. Drag the top filter rows around the display to shape your data or click the down arrows to turn items on/off for instant filtering.
Reporting is where Logbook Pro is unrivaled. Not only the ability to easily customize reports but Logbook Pro offers over 60 reports of all types to allow you to present your logbook pro create a hard copy for your permanent records. For those that think you can just have your logbook on a smart phone, what happens when it drops in the toilet or is left on a restaurant table, stolen, etc. Can you recreate your flying career with accuracy or is your past literally history? | Backing up your APDL Data |
|
If you are using APDL stop reading this and launch the app. Go to Settings > Sync & Backup and make sure the option is ON as shown above. When done return and continue reading.
The Auto Sync feature as shown above in GREEN should never, I say again NEVER, be turned OFF. We put this in the app as we like to make the software flexible in the rare event someone would not want their data syncing to the cloud. Syncing APDL data to the cloud is also your backup. Should you ever get a new device, break your device, you name it, our cloud sync for APDL will do a complete copy back to your new device(s). Our sync is NC Software's sync, not the unreliable spotty iCloud that has never worked for years (formerly mobileme).
NEVER turn Sync off, if we could shock you for touching that switch we would, but Apple has not added electrical shock to apps yet :)
You'll see a few options on the bottom of the above screenshot highlighted in red. DO NOT TOUCH these unless instructed by technical support. If you are having any problems we can use these as troubleshooting tools.
