Happy Holidays - Holiday Gift Guide

Android 8 "Oreo" and iOS 11

Google released Android 8 "Oreo" and Apple released iOS 11 along with a new phone with a very different layout - the iPhone X (ten they want us to call it). Google seems to do a much better job with compatibility and as a result Logbook Pro Mobile for Android on Google Play is fully compatible.

Both Logbook Pro and APDL underwent revisions to support "the notch" and "thumb" on the iPhone X (remember - 10! 10! 10!). iOS 11 had some growing pains and various bugs but as of this writing 11.2 is out and stable to where most can upgrade now if you were waiting for the seas to calm. iOS 11 is a little quirky on showing when updates are available, I recommend pull down until the spinner spins which will requery for updates when in the Updates area of the Apple App Store app. Google Play works as expected - as expected! If you find any issues simply submit a problem report within the app and we'll dive on it and get an update out as we, as OCD software developers, cannot stand when something isn't quite right.

Logbook Pro Mobile and APDL Updates

Logbook Pro Mobile for iOS recently updated to version 7.3 to add support for iPhone X (10!) and Face ID. Other than those changes the app is rock solid with no known issues.

APDL 8.4 released this past August with huge improvements as we continue to build out this extremely powerful iOS app for airline pilots flying under Part 117. As outlined in the release notes of the APDL documentation 8.4 drastically improved performance of the app and added weather forecast data inline with the schedule and calendar views. The status board gained new widgets such as the Big Clock widget to show time in bigger text for you. A few more update cycles came out with more improvements and iOS 11, iPhone X and Face ID support with the current app version as of this writing at 8.4.3.

New users can enjoy a 90 day free trial of APDL or 30 day free trial of Logbook Pro Mobile products. Go to the App Store and download our apps and check out the latest builds as we've been working extremely hard on these updates and we are confident you will love what you see. Keep your feedback coming as we continue development and frequent releases as we have new features ready for you. We have something pretty exciting in the making now which will go to beta testers very soon!

New Reports on APDL.net

We recently added a series of new reports to APDL.net - the APDL web portal. Our web reporting system is very powerful allowing you to adjust settings by clicking the funnel on the right of reports, where available, and export reports in the format you desire such as PDF. We will continue building out APDL's reports but invite you to check out the current reports available in your APDL.net personal portal by clicking here.
