APDL 8.5.5 Released

APDL 8.5.5 released primarily with iOS 12 support but we threw in a few more goodies as outlined in the full release notes you can read by clicking here. A few notable items we added is first the new capability to remember how you import trips using the schedule importer functionality. We're incorporating a little AI into the app to help reduce steps you need to take to use the software such as mentioned above. The new feature can be changed any time in the Settings > Schedule Importer area per the screenshot below.

A second notable feature is the data searching capabilities integrated into various views. Would you like to find all flights (logbook entries) that arrived or departed from an Airport? View an airport and at the bottom you'll find the new option to find the flights related to that airport. One last notable improvement for iPad users is in the Logbook area which is the interactive flight log report that you can tap on and add/edit flights. We now have a "share" button on the top right allowing easy export of this report either by logpage or for the entire month.

APDL is an extremely powerful app backed with an amazing architecture both in the app and in the cloud. We have only just begun so if you're not already using APDL then click here and install now and you'll get your first 90 days of use, fully functional including schedule importing, FREE!

Android 8 Beta Testers needed

We can always use more beta testers so if you like getting software updates before everyone else AND you are willing to actively participate in beta testing and provide us feedback please click here and join our beta teams. We are looking for our Android users preferably on the cutting edge with Android OS 8 or later to join our Android beta team. If you are an Android user of any version please also join now by clicking here. Sadly we did something to reset our Logbook Pro for Android beta list and lost all prior participants so ALL with Android, click here and join directly via Google Play Beta and help us test new builds before they go into production for releases.

Time by Tail in Logbook Pro Desktop

A great part of using an electronic/software logbook such as Logbook Pro is the amount of detail you can get from your data. Rather than just simple column totals from a traditional paper logbook, Logbook Pro can show you details you never imagined. The Analyzer is a super powerful feature of Logbook Pro, if you haven't used it click View > Analyzer and tinker around with it after clicking ALL DATA on the initial date filter. Across the top are drop down filter controls and along the left side are your Aircraft Types. Click the + to the left of each Aircraft Type and you'll find each N-Number that you've logged and corresponding totals to the right. Reporting tips on APDL.net

For our APDL (Airline Pilot Logbook App) users if you haven't checked out the awesome reports on APDL.net do so now by clicking here. Our powerful web based reporting system is as good as any desktop/PC based reporting system with export and filtering functionality. Run and filter any reports of interest then export or print professionally created documents right in your browser. We will continue to add new reports over time and grow this amazing system but for now see the image below pointing out the funnel icon for filter options. Various reports have their own filtering options so feel free to explore with the report viewer controls on the right side as depicted.

What If...

What if your hard drive crashed right now? What would you lose? Is Logbook Pro Desktop backed up someplace other than the computer you're staring at now? If the answer is NO then click here and sign up for Cloud Backup for Logbook Pro Desktop. Once you're subscribed open Logbook Pro Desktop and click File > Backup to Cloud. Now you can continue reading.

FYI:

Logbook Pro Mobile/Cloud Sync is NOT a backup solution. It does NOT keep your entire logbook in the cloud. You must use Logbook Pro Desktop and Cloud Backup for a secure and full off-site backup.
APDL Sync IS a full backup solution and if your app was deleted and reinstalled you will have a complete restore.
